Welcome to Sanctuary Tea. We are a New York-based purveyor of fine teas and tisanes. We offer our own unique line of teas, each of which has been carefully sourced from around the world to bring you the most pure, delicate and entertaining tea experience possible.

The Sanctuary Tea line includes everything from exotic loose teas savored by connoisseurs to playful flavored teas loved by all. But what makes us unique is our consistent dedication to quality, purity and simplicity.

The resulting delicacy of our teas means that they cannot be machine bagged for tea bags. Each tea bag that we offer is hand-tied in a muslin teabag to achieve the same flavor profile as top quality loose tea… because it is top quality loose tea!

What We Mean By Quality, Purity and Simplicity

Quality:
Unlike other tea purveyors we use the same high quality whole leaves in our flavored teas and teabags as we do in our fine loose teas. This means you’re experiencing the full, satisfying flavor of the main ingredient in every in every cup, both at a leisurely pace and on the go.

Purity:
Wherever possible, our teas are sourced from certified organic gardens or tested for the absence of pesticides. Even with this in mind, we always recommend rinsing the tea leaves once before brewing. We also use natural flavorings in our teas rather than artificial ones wherever possible.

Simplicity:
Tea bags or loose tea, flavored or unflavored, the tea is about how you enjoy it. We try to keep our website and our recommendations as simple as possible so choosing from a list of many teas, or brewing the tea just so, or performing the rituals of tea, never become stressful. Our teas are about pleasure, relaxation and entertainment- not about rules.
